PARK PLAYHOUSE IN WASHINGTON PARK, ALBANY

Park Playhouse is located at the Lakehouse in Albany’s Washington Park. To get to the theatre, enter the park at the intersection of New Scotland Avenue and Madison Avenue (this intersection is also the best address for use as a destination on a GPS or mapping app). Paid parking is available for $10.00, and free parking can be found along the roads in the Park and surrounding area. Handicapped parking is available alongside the theatre directly ahead of that park entrance. Patrons are asked to respect Park Playhouse’s resident neighbors by not parking illegally or blocking driveways, and by not leaving behind any garbage in the beautiful Washington Park area.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS...

Q: How can I buy reserved tickets? 

A: You can purchase reserved seats by calling the box office at (518) 434-0776, or online. Links to sales pages for our productions are available on the various "Musicals and Tickets" pages on our website.

Q: Can I reserve free seating in the amphitheatre lawn area?

A: Patrons are allowed to place blankets or chairs in the amphitheatre to reserve their spot. HOWEVER, please note that blankets and chairs may not be placed down prior to noon on the day of a performance to allow for the Department of General Services to perform routine maintenance in the amphitheatre. Blankets and chairs placed before noon will be removed by DGS staff. Also, please note that Park Playhouse and the City of Albany are not responsible for blankets, chairs or belongings left unattended.

Q: Can I bring food and beverages to the theatre? 

A: Yes! While Park Playhouse does offer concessions including soft drinks, Ben & Jerry's ice cream and many other treats, we certainly allow patrons to bring coolers, food & beverages to the park. We ask that you respect the park space and carry out all garbage with you at the end of the night and place it in the appropriate receptacles. 

Q: Where can I park at the venue?

A: Street parking is permitted on applicable streets in and around Washington Park. Additionally, paid parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis, just beyond the park entrance at Madison Avenue & New Scotland Avenue. Complimentary accessible parking is also available at this location for vehicles with appropriate tags, stickers or plates.

Additional Off-street parking is available just a short walk from Washington park at the following ParkAlbany parking lots:

  • Parking Lot 2: Located at 72 Central Ave. (Between Central Ave. & Western Ave.)

  • Parking Lot 3: Located at 327 Washington Avenue. (At Washington and Lexington Ave.)

  • Parking Lot 4: Located at 124 Central Ave. (Between Central Ave. & Bradford St.)

Q: Is the venue accessible for patrons with disabilities?

A: Yes. Seating in the reserved seating area is made available at no cost to patrons with disabilities that might prevent them from sitting on the free lawn seating area. Patrons with disabilities may reserve one complimentary seat for themselves, along with a complimentary seat for one companion. Additional seats in the reserved seating area need to be purchased. NOTE: it is strongly recommended that patrons wishing to reserve accessible seating make a reservation in advance as seating can be quite limited. Call the box office at (518) 434-0776 to make a reservation.

Q: What is your rain cancellation policy?

A: We make every effort to perform, even in the event of inclement weather during the day. No cancellation is ever called prior to one half hour until showtime. Should a performance be cancelled prior to the conclusion of the first act on any given night, ticket holders for that performance will be entitled to either a refund or exchange into a subsequent performances. Refunds must be requested in person on the night of the performance or by phone no more than two business days from the date of the performance (after which time, an exchange may still be processed). Should a performance be cancelled during the second act, an exchange may be processed, but refunds will not be made available. Cancellations and updates on weather are posted on our websites and social media channels.


Incliment weather policies

We make every effort to perform, even in the event of inclement weather during the day. No cancellation is ever called prior to one half hour until showtime. 

Should a performance be cancelled prior to the conclusion of the first act on any given night, ticket holders for that performance will automatically have a refund processed (for credit card purchases) or can receive a refund at the box office (for cash purchases).

Should a performance be cancelled during the second act, an exchange may be processed, but refunds will not be made available. Cancellations and updates on weather are posted here on our website and our Facebook feed.
